Summary
When the October Crisis struck fear into the hearts of thousands of Quebecois people. So in order to restore order and attempt at the ending of these ruthless attacks by the FLQ, the Federal Government reintroduced the War Measure Act, not having used it since WWII, as it took away many civil rights. The government conducted thousands of searches, and many people were thrown in jail because if they thought you had any relation or membership to the FLQ you were therefore a criminal and a threat. This began to disturb many people and a national conspiracy or rumour was spread to overthrow the Canadian government because the people felt they were taking it too far.
