A dictatorship is an autocratic form of government in which the government is ruled by an individual, the dictator. Hitler, Mussolini, Franco and Stalin are some of the most famous ands first dictators. Because of Hitler and his dictatorship and his demands this caused the second world war. The Western democracies adopted a policy of appeasment to prevent war and this gave Hitler concessions in order to stop a war. Hitler then began his annexation of Austria which broke the many of the treaties that were created to prevent another war from happening.
