•Debate over whether this is caused by man or natural
•Some argue carbon dioxide (CO2) is the cause
•Effects can melt permafrost, effect animals habitats, raise
sea levels
•1997 countries met to sign the Kyoto Protocol to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions
Summary
There are many different opinions about whether or not Global Warming is real, but based on scientific evidence, it has been proven it is, although there is debate on whether or not is is caused by humans or if it is a natural process. Because of pollution, fossil fuels, the huge population of people in the world means that more resources are being used as well as more products having to be produced. With the huge population, and expansion of communities almost every adult has a car, which releases CO2. All of these things attribute to the melting of the glaciers, rising sea level, changing environments, high temperature etc. In 1997 many countries signed the Kyoto Protocol and aimed to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions hoping to decrease the rising temperature and stop harm to the earth.
