The move to suburb living in the past 50 years has caused an increase in car usage
Sprawling cities makes public transit expensive further encouraging people to use cars
Environmental concerns such as salt and oil runoff, changing of water patterns and greenhouse gas emissions are the downside
Summary
In the last 50 years, vehicles have increase in usage, because of the urbanization and need to travel. Cities are often very large and spread out, which causes public transit to be expensive so many people opt to driving their cars, even though gas prices are high. Vehicles also are a big environmental concern though, because of the CO2 emissions, which is thought to be a greenhouse gas that causes global warming, the salt and old runoff on the roads going into the environment, and the changing of water patterns. The production of cars also takes a toll on thre environment, what with the factories and materials needed to make them.
